IT Web Design Courses

This program is for anyone who is interested in learning more about building a Web site or creating web graphics. It is an introductory program to the basic considerations necessary for designing a Web site, including the planning and maintenance of the site, and making the site accessible to all platforms and monitors. In addition, our Web Design Program includes training in the many uses and applications of Photoshop, HTML, Dreamweaver, Java Script and Flash.

	Photoshop for Graphic Design · The purpose of this class is to introduce and familiarize the student with Adobe Photoshop, a remarkable tool for image manipulation and enhancement which is much used in web, print and other graphic design. Topics covered vary based on students' experience and speed of learning but generally include Photoshop basics, Photoshop color, layer basics, selecting, compositing, history, adjustments, painting, layer effects, shapes, type, masks and filters. Time permitting, integration with web design will be demonstrated.
	HTML · Learn how to develop web pages using the hypertext mark-up language (HTML). Developing interactive and dynamic web pages is the goal of this course. Html will cover advanced topics such as forms, tables, formatted lists, cascading style sheets, and frames. Experience with web browsers and the Internet are required.
	Dreamweaver . The purpose of the course is to familiarize the future web-designer with Macromedia Dreamweaver, a powerful tool for creating professional websites. Dreamweaver enables the designer to create HTML behind-the-scenes while dealing with a visual display of the web page. The student will cover everything from basic HTML to website design, including integration of images, CSS, and more. Topics covered vary based on students' experience and speed of learning, but generally include basic HTML, how to create a basic web page, working with images, working with links, inserting and playing media, fonts and characters, CSS style sheets, tables, forms, layers and basic behaviors. Time permitting, the class will focus on the integration of Dreamweaver and Photoshop, in particular the creation of web pages based on Photoshop composites.
	Flash The purpose of this class is to introduce and familiarize current or future media designers with Macromedia Flash, a powerful tool for creating web, multimedia or video animation and interactive visual displays. The class will start with an introduction to Flash drawing tools and move from there to animation, basic ActionScript and integration of Flash movies into a website. Topics covered vary based on students' experience and speed of learning, but generally include flash movie essentials, flash drawing, flash symbols and libraries, managing content, working with color and images, motion tweening, shape tweening, masks and masking, and basic user interaction and ActionScript. No prior knowledge of Flash is required; basic knowledge of Dremweaver and Photoshop helpful.
